The UFO Ultimate Flow Optimizer is a simple, trouble-free, aerodynamic part that fits Mikuni round slide carburetors from 28 through 44mm. It allows the round slide carb to outperform flat slides. Expect gains in low and midrange around 1 HP per 100ccs of displacement on 4-strokes or 2 HP per 100ccs on 2-strokes.
The UFO Ultimate Flow Optimizer centralizes engine vacuum on the needle jet giving you powerful hole shot and midrange, with unparalleled throttle response. Due to the highly atomized nature of the fuel/air mixture that the UFO’s deliver, we have found the engine to be much cleaner with less carbon build-up. The engine will be far less sensitive to temperature or altitude changes, and you will get extremely quick throttle response. EGT tests have shown that exhaust temperature is automatically reduced when letting off the throttle rather than increased without the UFO’s installed. This offers extra burn-down protection, while offering a more complete combustion.

Take time to read the flow charts and the manometer charts on page 2 of the technical article link above. You will be able to see how the UFO equipped carburetor can easily compete against higher priced carburetors.
Next, on page 3, compare Dyno Run #1 without the UFO and Dyno Run #4 with the UFO at various RPMs. The 1/2 throttle runs show an even greater difference in horsepower.

Example: If your stock pilot jet is #35, you will need to change your pilot to a #17.5 90% of the time. The exception to the 90% rule will be either one size up or down from 50%. Order your pilot jets from Thunder Products, Inc. We have all sizes of pilot jets in stock and can help you get the correct size. Dealers usually do not stock the sizes you will need.
