The average price a shop would charge to clean your carbs is about $200.00 in round dollars (ouch!).
Water, alcohol, benzene and other additives also tend to settle out of your fuel. Water in your vehicle’s carburetor can cause serious problems. Water will prevent the fuel from properly combusting in the engine causing your vehicle to run badly, bog down when accelerating or surge as the vehicle alternatively receives good fuel and fuel with water mixed in. If there is a large amount of water in your carburetor your engine will not run at all.
The float in your carburetor may be damaged by water in the fuel. Several pieces of your carburetor can rust if exposed to water.
